SUMMARY:Arts\, Culture & Fun: Make Your Mark with Watercolor Painting by the River
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a free watercolor painting series along the river. Ashton Agbomenou will teach free adult watercolor classes demonstrating how to use line\, shape\, and color to render an image. Bring an image you would like to paint during the 2 hour session. Supplies will be provided and beginners are welcome. \nAbout the Artist: Ashton is a freelance painter and filmmaker with a BFA degree from Rhode Island School of Design. Born and raised in Harlem\, New York he studied classical painting at the High School of Art & Design and the Art Students League of New York. \nThe classes are for 18 years old and older. \nClasses on May 17\, June 28\, and July 12\, 2018. DESCRIPTION:*** This show has been cancelled due to the wet weather *** Look for the King Lear production on 8/22. \nHip to Hip Theatre Group kicks off their Summer 2018 Tour dates with their final dress rehearsal production\, for all ages*\, of Shakespeare’s All’s Well That Ends Well! \nHip to Hip is dedicated to stimulating and developing interest in the theatre arts in underserved communities by providing free\, family-friendly\, professional productions of popular classics\, and free theatre workshops for children\, in public spaces. \nAll performances are free to the public and will feature an interactive kids workshop 30 minutes before showtime. Kids & the Classics is designed for ages 4 to 12 and gives children a chance to interact with the text by previewing the characters\, situations\, and creating links between the text and their own lives through theatre games and reading of text. \n* Kids & the Classics\, interactive workshops begin at 7pm. The play begins at 7:30pm. \nAudience members are encouraged to bring a blanket or low chair\, picnic fare and enjoy a Shakespeare play in the open air. No tickets are necessary. Performances run 95 minutes. \nAll’s Well That Ends Well\nHaving restored the King’s health with a miraculous potion\, Helena requests Count Bertram’s hand in marriage in return. But when the arrogant Bertram refuses to marry beneath his class and flees from both King and bride to the nearest war\, Shakespeare’s courageous heroine must stop at nothing to bring him home. Meanwhile\, Bertram’s friends hilariously unmask the swashbuckling braggart Parolles.
