This Summer FBIP brings music to the beautiful waterfront in Bushwick Inlet Park with our first Summer Music in BIP series. As life is starting to look much brighter come take in a skyline river sunset on the shoreline esplanade while absorbing great musical vibes.

Next, the Jazz Foundation of America brings us Alvin Flythe.

Queens native Alvin Wink Flythe started playing music at the age of six and has been a professional saxophonist for more than 50 years. At the age of 12, he had the honor of playing with his cousin Duke Ellington, and has since shared the stage with greats like Dizzy Gillespie, Roy Haynes, and Dr. Lonnie Smith, touring Europe and the Caribbean. Flythe’s style is influenced by John Coltrane, Dexter Gordon, Sonny Rollins, and Sonny Stitt, and combines a funk aesthetic with classic jazz tones.

A big thanks goes out to NYC Ferry for their support of this series. We thank New York City Parks & Recreation, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and North Brooklyn Parks Alliance for their support as well.
