On June 3rd NYC Parks presented their second round of designs for the Motiva site (which surrounds the inlet) at Bushwick Inlet Park to the Community Board #1 Parks & Waterfront Committee. The consensus in the (virtual call) room was the new designs created by design firm Abel Bainnson Butz successfully incorporated feedback from committee members and participants provided at a previous meeting. Highlights include a much softer shoreline, better pathway routing and a more wild bucolic upland area. The committee unanimously approved the design. On June 24th it will be voted on by the full community board.

This project was an optimal collaboration between designer, community and city agency. We are grateful to NYC Parks and the designers at ABB. They were great listeners and convertors of ideas. Two new sections of BIP are now in the works. 50 Kent’s Design was approved in late 2018.
