Mayor de Blasio Write In Campaign: Fund the Remainder of Bushwick Inlet Park

20,000 New Housing Units Built – But Most of BIP's Development is at a Standstill

6 years ago Mayor de Blasio made history by saving a huge section of Bushwick Inlet Park from private sale, and he subsequently funded development of 2 additional smaller sections. However, it’s been 16 years since the full park was promised to the community. Two-thirds of the park remains stalled and unfunded. As this coming fiscal year’s budget negotiations finalize we want to tell the mayor to complete history by funding the demolition of the warehouse and put a funding plan in place for remediation, design and construction of the rest of the park.  With in the last 10 years 20,000 new units of housing of have been created in North Brooklyn, #1 in the City. We need all the park space we were promised!

After that let’s tell Council Member Steve Levin to urge the City Council to include BIP funding in FY 2022 (this Summer), too!
